Specialised Computer-aided design (CAD) modeling software can be used to
design or create parts for a wide variety of applications. 3D models of the
finished product could then be viewed and virtually assembled with other parts
if necessary, to see how they fit together. Existing parts can also be recreated
and modified as needed to include any desirable design changes.
Models of the parts can then be sent to the Computer-aided Manufacturing (CAM)
software to generate optimised toolpaths for fast machining times. The CAM
software is also capable of intelligently selecting the required tools to
complete the machining of the job.
